Call for Proposals
The editors of the Ohio Social Studies Review, a peer-reviewed journal, issue a call to submit manuscripts for the Spring 2011 issue, which is scheduled for March publication.
Theme: Local History and Issues
All things local are global, and all things global are local. What can social studies teachers do to help their students make personal connections with what happened in the distant past in distant places and what is happening in our globalizing world today?
The editors of the Ohio Social Studies Review are interested in soliciting manuscripts that illuminate how teachers can effectively help students make connections between their own and the global world.
We are especially interested in manuscripts authored by teachers or co-authored by researchers and practitioners that highlight lesson units that have been effective towards accomplishing this goal.
The Ohio Social Studies Review is especially directed at OCSS membership, comprised in large part of practicing classroom teachers; therefore, manuscripts that focus on practical applications will be preferred.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions from all social studies disciplines as well as from interdisciplinary perspectives are welcome. Each submission will be refereed using a double-blind peer review process. Submit manuscripts as a file attachment to the Executive Editor at: doppen@ohio.edu
